Apple Crumble Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust bottom only

Topping

  • 60 g flour 1/2 cup
  • 100 g brown sugar 1/2 cup packed
  • 55 g butter unsalted, 1/4 cup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Filling

  • 1 L apples chopped
  • 100 g white sugar 1/2 cup
  • 15 g lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • 5 g vanilla 1 tsp
  • 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 °F.
  • Roll out the pie crust, and lay it on the pie tray. Cut it to size.
  • With a pastry blender blend together the ingredients for the topping. They should be "lightly worked" to avoid becoming oily.
  • Mix together all the ingredients for the filling.
  • Place the filling in the pie tray, and cover with the topping.
  • Cook at 450 °F for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 375 °F, then cook for 15-30 minutes more.
