Apple Crumble Pie
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust bottom only
Topping
- 60 g flour 1/2 cup
- 100 g brown sugar 1/2 cup packed
- 55 g butter unsalted, 1/4 cup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Filling
- 1 L apples chopped
- 100 g white sugar 1/2 cup
- 15 g lemon juice 1 tbsp
- 5 g vanilla 1 tsp
- 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 °F.
- Roll out the pie crust, and lay it on the pie tray. Cut it to size.
- With a pastry blender blend together the ingredients for the topping. They should be "lightly worked" to avoid becoming oily.
- Mix together all the ingredients for the filling.
- Place the filling in the pie tray, and cover with the topping.
- Cook at 450 °F for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 375 °F, then cook for 15-30 minutes more.
