Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage sliced
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 28 oz can of crushed/blended tomatoes
  • 12 oz tomato paste
  • 13 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1.5 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seed
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper

Instructions

  • Cook the sausage, ground beef, onion and garlic until the meat is well-browned.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients, and cook, covered, on low heat for 2 hours.
