Mussels in White Wine Sauce

  • 1 kg mussels
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup shallots, minced
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 baguette


  • Boil wine, shallots, parsley, and garlic. Simmer for 3 minutes.
  • Add mussels and boil, covered, shaking pan several times, for 4-8 minutes or until mussels open up. Remove mussels from liquid.
  • Add butter to sauce to make an emulsified sauce. Pour over mussels and serve with crusty bread and chilled white wine.
