- 4 cups chopped up apples.
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 tsp salt if butter is unsalted
- 1 tsp cinnamon optional
- Preheat the oven to 375 F.
- Put the apples into a pie plate.
- With a pastry blender blend together the remaining ingredients. They should be "lightly worked" to avoid becoming oily.
- Spread the topping over the apples.
- Bake at 375 F for about 30 minutes.
